Trip to Denver

My job sent me to Denver, CO for a conference. Wes and I had a lot of free time to see the city.



This was the view from our hotel room.



This was the first time I'd ever seen mountains. How majestic!



Here is a view of 16th Street from the mall. There was a huge crowd because of the Obama rally down the street.

Snoop Dog

Here is our dog, Snoopy, in what looks like his Halloween costume. Actually, this is his favorite blanket that he chewed holes in and then proceeded to get his head stuck in one of those holes. I was cracking up!



He could be Mighty Dog!



After a full day of chewing blankets and wrestling with our cat, Snoopy is quite worn out!

My 27th Birthday

Here is my fabulously pink birthday cake, which my friend, Sharon, made. It was absolutely delicious!



We had my favorite people over for chili and hot dogs...mmmm!



It was perfect fall weather, and we had a bonfire going to keep warm...and to roast the hot dogs and marshmallows.

More of my birthday...

Wes loves it when people come over who like to play ping-pong.



I attempted to get a good family picture, but of course, my crazy sister had to make her crazy face!



She finally cooperated, and we got a good picture of the family.



Nicci, Jess and my sister sang a beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday to me...followed by everyone else singing the short "This is your birthday song. It isn't very long. Hey!" Both were a treat to the ears :)

My recent creation

I made this carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and yellow and purple mums for my friend, Nicci's, graduation. I'm still learning, but I was pretty proud of this one.

Trip to Monacco

Wes recently went on a trip to Monacco for a "work" project (I'm not jealous at all!). In case you didn't know, Monacco is a tiny little country on the southeastern corner between France and Italy. This was the view outside of his hotel room. Magnifico!

This is where he had to get on the helicopter which took him to the main airport in Niece, France. Cool, huh?!

Wes' trip to Vegas

Wes was sent to Las Vegas for a "work" project (Lucky dog!). This is where he stayed during his trip, the Luxor Hotel. Yes, the rooms are angled like that!

Wes was in engineer heaven when he was able to take a tour of the inside of the dam and see how everything works.

Here is the famous MGM casino.




This is the Stratosphere.



At the top of the Stratosphere is a crazy ride that takes you over the side of the building.



As you hang there, you then get to spin violently! Wes didn't ride this particular ride, but he did ride one where it pointed downward and stopped in mid air. People are nuts!
